Following our performance at St. Mary the Virgin, Monkseaton, on Saturday 30th June 2018 some photos have kindly been provided for our use.

Based on the information agreed so far, the overall plan for the Anniversary Season September 2018 to June 2019 – including the Chairman’s Challenge – is currently as follows (events in bold type have agreed dates) : –

October 18th 2018 – Citizenship Ceremony
November 10th 2018 – Coffee Morning
December 8th 2018 – BCS Concert

January 19th 2019 – concert by Christopher & David Murray – details to be confirmed.
February 9th 2019 – Singing Day led by Aidan Oliver
March 1st 2019 – Social Singing Evening to be organised by Tenors – an evening of popular songs in The Peacock pub with word sheets provided and guitar accompaniment – details later.
March 30th 2019 – BCS Anniversary Concert

April 8th 2019 – A Night at the Bowling Alley  to be organised by the Sopranos
May 11th 2019 – Coastal walk followed by Fish & Chips in Whitburn Parish Hall organised by Basses.
June 22nd 2019 – BCS Concert
July 7th 2019 – Tanfield Railway trip organised by Altos.

Unfortunately the Society will no longer be contributing to the Citizenship Ceremony to take place in Sunderland Civic Suite on Thursday October 18th 2018.

On Thursday 12th July, the Society took part in the public performances on Sunderland Town Moor to entertain visitors to the Tall Ships event. Around 40 members of the choir were able to take part and reprised many of the numbers from their Great American Songbook concerts. Another first for the Society, an open air ‘gig’ complete with some ‘groupies’ in the audience surrounded by the masts of the Tall Ships.
